Which Path Are You On?

Many people claim to be Christians, especially here in the Western world. This would be great if people were professing to be Christians and living their lives out of their profession of faith. Most people tend to look at Christianity in the form of a label rather than a lifestyle. Jesus did not call people to a label, but a lifestyle. It is not seen anywhere in the Scriptures that we are to be part of the world when we become Christians, instead, we are supposed to be in the world, but not of the world.

During what has become known as the Sermon on the Mount, at the beginning of Jesus's ministry from Matthew 5-8, He addresses the difference between people who profess but do not live for Him and those who are following toward the Truth. In Matthew 7:13-23, He talks about the way that there are 2 different paths that people are on, there is either a straight and narrow or a wide and broad road.

If we profess to be Christians, we should be striving to always be on the straight and narrow road and we should be terrified if we realize that we are on the wide and broad road. Being a Christian in this day and age is not going to be an easy thing as we are meant to be living our lives contrary to what the world sees as a perfectly acceptable way of living. The world views evil things and actions as good while viewing things and actions that are good as evil. While the culture does not condone murder, it does condone teachings that are contrary to human nature and it also seeks to moralize things that are immoral as well. When we profess to be Christians, it is not just something that is a result of going to church on Sundays or any other day of the week you might go, but it is a way of life! We should be able to be known as Christians by our fruit. You will know the character of a person by their fruit, if they are doing things to where their actions are always contradicting their words, then that shows they are not who they say they are. When we profess to be Christians, our actions should represent that as well, even during difficult situations.

This hoodie is a reminder not just to us who profess to be Christians, but also to those who see us with it as well. The straight and narrow path on the bottom of the image is made to look like a tight rope and the wide and broad path is on the top with no obstacles. In the middle of the images, it reads "Straight & Narrow or Wide & Broad, which path are you on?" On the sleeve, there is the reference to Matthew 7:13-14.
